Six students from Gakushuin Women’s College in Tokyo presented origami cranes to the U.S. forces in Japan at the USFJ Headquarters, March 16. The Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps representatives, led by Lt. Gen. Burton Field (back, left) USFJ and 5th Air Forces commander, and his deputy, Brig. Gen. Blake Crowe (back, center), received 1,000 paper cranes, respectively, from the students as a symbol of the school’s appreciation for the U.S. military’s support to the Japanese people during the aftermath of the Great East Japan Earthquake last year.
