Marines with 7th Communications Battalion and residents of the Hikariga-Oka nursing home use hammers to pound rice in the stone bowl at the Hikariga-Oka nursing home in Kin Town Jan. 19. The battalion, part of III Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group, III MEF, was invited to take part in this Okinawan tradition because of their longstanding relationship with the Hikariga-Oka nursing home.
