Landing Craft Utility 1632 transports Marines from the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit and members of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force. The units are participating in Iron Fist 2012, a training exercise between U.S. Marines and the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force designed to increase interoperability and amphibious capabilities throughout the U.S. 3rd and 7th Fleet areas of responsibility.
