HSV-2 Swift/Southern Partnership Station 2012

Builder 1st Class Tony Escobar, a U.S. Navy Seabee, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB 23), embarked on High Speed Vessel (HSV-2) Swift, helps carry a door with a Peruvian combat engineer during HSV-Southern Partnership Station 2012, and the construction of an amphitheater in Ancon. NMCB 23 embarked aboard Swift is working with Peruvian combat engineers from Base Naval De Callao and Brigada Infanteria De Marina De Ancon for three weeks on the amphitheater. HSV-SPS is an annual deployment of U.S. Navy ships and assets to the U.S. Southern Command's area of responsibility in the Caribbean, Central and South America. The exercise involves information sharing with Navies, Coast Guards and civilian services throughout the region.
