Navy SH-60 Seahawks land aboard the USS Kearsarge, Jan. 30 in preparation for Exercise Bold Alligator 2012. The aircraft carries a team of search and rescue personnel who are present for both training and training safety throughout the exercise, is the largest naval amphibious exercise in the past 10 years. Exercise Bold Alligator 2012 will focus on today’s fight with today’s forces, while showcasing the advantages of seabasing and represents the Navy and Marine Corps’ revitalization of the full range of amphibious operations. This exercise is scheduled to last through Feb. 12 with operations both afloat and ashore in and around Virginia and North Carolina.
