Fredi, the now retired K-9 from Marine Corps Police Department, MCLB Barstow, plays with his cloth monkey held by his former human partner Terri Piekosz, a Chicago native. Piekosz was recently sworn in as a second lieutenant in the Marine Corps after completing OCS in Quantico, Va. She “adopted” Fredi after resigning her position as a police officer Dec. 16, 2011.
