Cpl. Joshua Byrd, a field radio operator with Headquarters Company, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, disconnects several solar panels from the control box of a Ground Renewable Expeditionary Energy Network System after full charging a number of battery packs. Just using four fully charged batteries, the GREENS system boasts the capability to operate up to 300 watts of power for 16 hours.
