First Sgt. Mike Dunn, of Nashville, Ind., a mechanic at the Camp Atterbury Joint Maneuver Training Center's Unit Training Equipment Site, removes an instrument panel from the driver's compartment on an M1 Abrams tank being decommissioned for inclusion at the Camp Atterbury Veterans Memorial, Nov. 1. The decommissioning process removes all subsystems from the tank including firing mechanisms, radios and communications equipment, sights, fire suppression systems, as mess as the engine itself.
