Riverine patrol boat crews assigned to Riverine Squadron 1 serve as opposition forces during various training scenarios off the coast of Newport News, Va. Navy Expeditionary Combat Command units, Maritime Security Squadron 4 and RIVRON 1 are participating in an NECC integrated exercise as part of their pre-deployment certification process. The week-long exercise consists of land-based and waterborne scenarios that test the unit's ability to respond to various threats in a realistic training environment.
