Marines perform a security halt while on patrol here Nov. 14. The Marines are from 3rd Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force. The Marines patrolled the woods around their artillery position to observe for enemy activity in the area. Artillery Marines provide their own security and quick reaction force in combat operations.
