Maj. Gen. Rodney O. Anderson, deputy commanding general XVIII Airborne Corps and Fort Bragg, presents Max Powell, a Red Cross Warrior Transition Battalion chair for the Womack Army Medical Center, the Gold Star Iron Mike Award for Volunteer Service at Memorial Hall, Oct. 27. Powell, a Cameron, N.C., native, is the third volunteer to earn the award.
