A Norwegian explosives ordnance disposal specialist takes notes while evaluating Sgt. Jeremy Rininger, a team leader with the 21st Theater Sustainment Command’s 702nd Explosive Ordnance Disposal Company, 18th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 16th Sustainment Brigade, based in Grafenwoehr, Germany, as he dismantles a buried improvised explosive device Oct. 6 during the North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s yearly EOD exercise “Northern Challenge” which was hosted by the Icelandic Coast Guard at Naval Station Keflavik, Iceland. U.S. soldiers trained alongside soldiers from Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, Italy, Germany, Austria and the Icelandic Coast Guard.
