Dr. Zodiac Lyimo, district veterinary officer, instructs livestock field officers on the proper technique for drawing blood from cattle during a Veterinary Civic Action Program, Sept. 20, in Tanga, Tanzania. The four-day VETCAP fostered using the best preventive medical techniques for 23 local livestock field officers and veterinarians. The training also focused on the proper use of laboratory techniques in the collecting and testing of blood, urine and fecal samples in order to diagnose and treat disease in livestock.
