Rear Adm. Patrick H. Brady, commander, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, received the 2011 Hispanic Engineer of the Year Award at the annual Hispanics Engineer National Achievement Award Conference in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., Oct. 7. The HENAAC award winners represented talented science, technology, engineering and math professionals who have achieved both academic and professional success in their respective fields. As the Navy’s Information Systems Dominance Command, SPAWAR has a robust STEM program that focuses on building networks within academia, government and industry communities to increase awareness regarding the importance of improving the scientific and technological literacy and competitiveness of the nation’s students.
