U.S. Air Force Capt. William Boland, a Mendota Heights, Minn. native, completes lap 16 of 20 during the Bank of America Chicago Marathon satellite in Kabul, Afghanistan, Oct. 7. Boland, the winner of the individual category, joined more than 120 soldiers, airmen, sailors, Marines and civilians from numerous coalition nations showed up for the early morning start of the marathon, which raised more than $12,000 for the St. Jude Research Hospital.
