French horn players from each of the four participating bands kick off a combined concert in Sendai, Japan, Sept. 24. The
Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Central Band, Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Central Band, III Marine Expeditionary Force Band and the U.S. Army Japan Band participated in the concert which was held in remembrance of the victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake and in honor of Operation Tomodachi, a Japan-U.S. combined humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operation in mainland Japan following the March 11 earthquake and subsequent tsunami.
