A Navy MH-60S Seahawk retrieves a mock casualty from a simulated hijacked ship during a counterpiracy exercise performed by members of the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit's maritime raid force off Southern California's coast Sept. 7. The unit embarked USS Makin Island and the amphibious transport dock New Orleans in San Diego Sept. 1 to begin a second sea-based exercise since becoming a complete Marine air-ground task force in May.
