PATROL BASE KAKAR, Helmand province, Afghanistan - Lance Cpl. Paul Gammon, an assaultman team leader with 3rd Platoon, Company K, 3rd Battalion, 4th Marines, sights in on insurgents during an attack on Patrol Base Kakar, Afghanistan July 24. “We started taking fires from compounds. So, we returned fire and gained fire superiority,” said Gammon, a native of Tampa, Fla., who graduated from Riverview High School in 2007. “This deployment has been a lot more kinetic than last deployment.”
