An opposing force soldier, Charlie Company, 2nd Infantry Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 4th Stryker Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, defends against Australian soldiers from 7th Brigade at the Urban Operations Training Area, Queensland, Australia, during Talisman Sabre 2011, July 23, 2011. The Australians' blue force mission was to pacify the town at UOTA and stabilize the surrounding area, while the Americans' red force mission was to defend the town by employing professional military and insurgent tactics. TS11 is a biennial joint international training exercise held during July aimed at improving and validating the Australian Defense Force and United States combat readiness and interoperability as a combined joint task force.
