Cmdr. A.D. Hull, USS Germantown commanding officer, explains the forward-deployed amphibious dock landing ship's capabilities to Australian army Gen. David Hurley, chief of defense force, Australian army Lt. Gen. Ash Power, chief of joint operations and U.S. Ambassador to Australia Jeffrey Bleich during a tour of the ship. Germantown is participating with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit in exercise Talisman Sabre 2011, a bilateral command post and field training exercise designed to maintain a high level of interoperability between U.S. and Australian forces.
