Explosions from 60 mm mortar rounds are seen in the distance during a training exercise where Marines tested a new 60 mm mortar system aboard Camp Pendleton July 21. The training provided hands-on experience with the new system which replaces the World War II era M2 Mortar and M119 Mortar.
