Australian Army Capt. Gary Whitehead, a Tiger pilot and aircraft battle captain, from the 1st Aviation Regiment, poses beside his craft. Whitehead was flying armed reconnaissance missions in the Shoalwater Bay training area as part of Talisman Sabre 2011.Tiger Armed Reconnaissance Helicopters from the Australian Army's 1st Aviation Regiment were providing situational awareness and close air support to ground troops as part of Talisman Sabre 2011. The Tiger ARH has an advanced suite of surveillance and reconnaissance equipment to enable friendly forces to gain an accurate picture of potential threats, and modern weaponry to accurately assist friendly forces under fire. As part of Talisman Sabre 2011, Australia and United States are sharing the capabilities of military equipment such as the Tiger ARH in order to improve their interoperability to enhance regional security and stability.(Australian Defence Force photo by ADF Sgt.
