This soldier memorial is in dedication of Spc. Nicholas Newby, a soldier assigned to B Company, 145th Brigade Support Battalion, 116th Cavalry Brigade, deployed here. Newby was killed in action July 7 when his convoy was struck by an improvised explosive device outside Camp Victory, Iraq.
