Obeyid, a native of Mosul, Iraq, led the Iraqi soldiers as they entered and cleared buildings during the cordon and search exercise. U.S. soldiers assigned to 1st Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Advise and Assist Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, partnered with the IA soldiers to teach them enhanced combat tactics during the month-long training rotation.
