Sgt. Robert Conlon, explosive ordnance disposal team leader, 1st Explosive Ordnance Disposal Company, 7th Engineer Support Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 1, 1st Marine Logistics Group, stands at the position of attention as Maj. James Shelstad, company commander, 1st EOD Co., 7th ESB, CLR-1, 1st MLG, 43, from Canby, Ore., pins a Purple Heart Medal to his uniform at Camp Pendleton, Calif., May 18. Conlon received the award for wounds received while deployed to Afghanistan. Conlon was wounded from a gunshot wound to the arm, but recovered to finish out his deployment.
