An F-80 Shooting Star is in the process of being refurbished at the Air National Guard paint facility in Sioux City, Iowa. The aircraft has undergone extensive revitalization at the 185th Air Refueling Wing fabrication shop and is being repainted at the paint facility here. The Aircraft will be stenciled with the markings of the Sioux City, Iowa Air National Guard scheme from the middle 1950’s. The then 174th Fighter Bomber Squadron flew the F-80 from 1953 to 1955. The F-80 will eventually be on permanent static display at the Iowa National Guard Gold Star Museum at Camp Dodge in Johnston, Iowa.
