Sgt. 1st Class Kendall Struxness and Capt. Jarrod Simek, both with the North Dakota National Guard’s Company A of the 231st Brigade Support Battalion, discuss flood operations in Valley City in the tactical operations center at the Valley City Armory April 16. Additional Soldiers from the North Dakota National Guard arrived in Valley City to help with sandbag operations as the city prepares for the Sheyenne River to reach a record crest of 21.2 to 21.5 feet by Tuesday, exceeding the previous record of 20.69 feet set in 2009.
