Soldiers from Task Force-West quick reaction force sandbag near a levee that was damaged due to rising waters in Valley City, N.D., on April 12, 2011. The Guard has nearly 100 Guardsmen in Valley City as the area approaches a crest. 231st Base Support Battalion has soldiers patrolling the levees and call in reports so that quick reaction forces can be used as necessary. The quick reaction force teams are approximately 14-16 Guardsman and are on call 24 hours a day.
