Cpl. Chris R. Gerard, of Cumberland, R.I., and Sgt. George Calloway, of Baltimore, Md., both Marines with the Chemical Biological Incident Response Force, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force, carefully lay a simulated casualty down while preparations are made to lower the victim down two stories to safety, March 14, at Muscatatuck Urban Training Complex. The Marines performed this training during exercise Vibrant Response, a multi-government exercise in which a simulated nuclear bomb is detonated, and a local community is portrayed as being torn apart in the aftermath of the explosion.
