Capt. Ryan Fandell, 816th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron aircraft commander, listens to radio chatter during engine start up on a C-17 Globemaster III prior to an air delivery mission. The C-17 aircrew air delivered cargo which consisted of fuel and other various supplies to a remote forward operating base in Afghanistan. Fandel is deployed from the 7th Airlift Squadron, McChord Air Force Base, Wash.
