Sgt. Ricki French of Louisville, Ill., tack-welds sections of metal together in the fabrication shop on Camp Basra that will be used to create Silver Lion Battalion crests. Even though French is not MOS-trained as a metal worker, he has spent the majority of deployment as the unit’s welder and completed more than 100 work orders.
