Ali Hamada, a teacher and volunteer at the Chomoni Primary School for Children project, receives a round of applause from U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Jeffery Jurasek, the 402nd Civil Affairs Battalion commander, Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa, in Chomoni, Comoros, Jan. 24. Hamada dedicated countless hours working with the Joint Civil Affairs Team 101 to rebuild the school, making more space for the children of the village. When the project is completed next month, the school can accommodate nearly 200 students, four times the previous amount.
