U.S. Army Major Robert Cusick speaks with the Florida media at the unveiling of Staff Sgt. Robert Miller Medal of Honor Headstone at the All Faith’s Memorial Cemetery here, Jan. 22. Cusick was in charge of Operational Detachment-Alpha 3312 in 2008, and was Miller’s commander three years ago when they came under attack from insurgent forces in the Gowerdesh Valley, Afghanistan. Miller was awarded the Medal of Honor, Oct. 6, 2010 posthumously for heroism and valor in combat while serving in Afghanistan.
