IA soldiers with 6th Bde., 3rd IA Div. partnered with a U.S. Stability Transition Team from 4th Advise and Assist Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division's Task Force Spear to search for evidence of insurgent activity after receiving tips from local residents. Yousif greeted locals and provided contact information for a crime tip hotline, in the event the citizens noted any unusual activity in their neighborhood. The intelligence provided by the residents led to the discovery of possible bombmaking materials at an abandoned house at the edge of the city.
