Leaders from the local community, Japanese and U.S. military attend the 14th Missile Defense Battery change of command and responsibility ceremony held Monday, June 26, 2017, in the Centrale Hotel at Omiya, Kyotango, Japan. These ceremonies are a time-honored tradition held by Army units to signify the transfer of responsibility, authority and accountability from one command team to another. The incoming commander and first sergeant, Capt. Anton McDuffie of Tampa, Fla., and 1st. Sgt. Myron Metcalf of Fayetteville, N.C., replaced the outgoing commander and first sergeant, Maj. Sara Cardenas of Chicago, Ill. and 1st Sgt. Benjamin Sharp of Colorado Springs, Colo.
