One candle of the Advent Wreath is lit each Sunday in the four weeks leading up to Christmas. The Christ Candle is placed in the middle and is not lit until Christmas Day. Soldiers assigned to the 4th Advise and Assist Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, are celebrating Christmas in Ninewa province, Iraq, this year as the brigade supports Operation New Dawn.
