Kovatch, officer in charge of human resources for 2nd Battalion, 17th Cavalry Regiment, 101st Combat Aviation Brigade was the fastest woman on the track in the Army Ten-Miler shadow run on Kandahar Air Field, Afghanistan, Oct. 23. Kovatch completed the race with a time of 1 hour, 14 minutes, 48 seconds.
