Marines with 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment stood at attention, as taps is played at the memorial ceremony of Lance Cpl. John T. Sparks, Oct. 16. Sparks, 23, was killed in action, Oct. 8. Sparks was a machine gunner with Weapons Platoon, India Company, 3/5 assigned to Regimental Combat Team 2.
