Special Forces Lt. Col. Perry Blackburn Jr. re-enlists his son, Sgt. Perry "Trey" Blackburn III, in northern Kuwait, Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010. Blackburn III serves as an assistant operations sergeant with the 1st Squadron, 153rd Cavalry Regiment, of the Florida Army National Guard. Blackburn Jr. spent time with his son while training in Kuwait prior to heading into Iraq in support of Operation New Dawn. Blackburn III is also following the footsteps of his grandfather retired Command Sgt. Maj. Perry Blackburn Sr., a Vietnam veteran who served 33 years before retiring in Miami, Florida.
