Sgt. Nery Constanza, a Base Defense Augmentation Force Marine with 3rd Low Altitude Air Defense Battalion, mans the turret of a mine-resistant, ambush-protected truck at the base perimeter here. Constanza is an Aircraft, Rescue and Firefighting Marine from Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif. He and 32 other Marines volunteered for a three-month deployment to support 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (Forward)'s requirement to stand watch over the base perimeter here.
