ROTA, Spain (Jan. 13, 2017) Sailors assigned to Naval Munitions Command, Detachment Rota, and members of Naval Submarine Support Facilities, determine the centerline of a MK-48 inert training torpedo to ensure it is lifted properly during an expeditionary ordnance loading exercise onboard Naval Station Rota, Spain. The exercise was designed to demonstrate the U.S. Navy's capability to load ordnance onto naval vessels in non-traditional locations, and is the first in a series of expeditionary weapons loading events planned for the next year in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations.
