Army Staff Sgt. Christopher Bain, from Williamsport, Pa., last deployed with 2nd brigade 1st armored division receive an embrace by Staff Sgt. Earl Granville, from Scranton, Pa., as he visits the site where he had been injured by indirect fire on Camp Taji, Iraq. Ten other wounded warriors accompanied him out to the site June 13, 2010, as they all participated in Operation Proper Exit. The eleven wounded warriors spent the week, June 12-16, touring Iraq, visiting the sites where they had been injured, and taking time to meet with troops to talk about their experiences. The operation provided the opportunity for injured veterans to also see the overall progress that has been made in country since their deployed service. The goal is to provide closure for their traumatic experience and give them the chance to exit Iraq on their own terms.
