Larry Granet, a USS Samuel Chase veteran, wipes tears after hearing the words from the invocation spoken by Cmdr. Carl P. Koch, Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point's command chaplain, during the memorial service for the Samuel Chase?s fallen comrades, at the Cherry Point chapel, June 8. The Samuel Chase was a Coast Guard-manned ship that was involved in several World War II campaigns, including the invasion of Normandy in June 1944, otherwise known as "D-Day."
