Supplying the MRAP Pipeline: a Constant Reconciliation

Mine resistant ambush protected vehicles are transported into Iraq and Afghanistan by various transportation modes. In addition to seaports in the Central Command area, airfields in Afghanistan and Iraq receive MRAP's for processing to Marines and Soldiers in the field. If MRAP's are sent by sealift, they are normally trans-shipped to airlift at a local airfield due to the lack of seaports in Afghanistan and Iraq. Occasionally, MRAP's are sent by surface trucking routes.
