160816-N-WA993-115 YOKOSUKA, Japan (Aug. 16, 2016) Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Handling) Airman (AW) Jonathan Miller, from Arlington, Texas, fills a bucket with water on the starboard catwalk of the Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). Miller is preparing to test a flight deck drain. “I will be checking if the drains are clogged or not,” said Miller. “This is done to make sure the flight deck doesn’t flood with water during important operations.” Ronald Reagan provides a combat-ready force, which protects and defends the collective maritime interests of the U.S. and its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
