Gold is emblematic of excellence and high achievement. Red denotes courage and action. The griffon, a heraldic beast of strength and vigilance, is holding the lightning flash for swift deployment, communications and intelligence responsibilities. The sword is for all the combat support missions the unit provides to enable the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, to accomplish assigned objectives. The distinctive unit insignia was approved February 3, 2005.
