Nabinger (standing), an airframes mechanic, and native of Daleville, Ala., both from Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 461 (Reinforced), 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, open the nose compartment of a UH-1N Huey helicopter during wash down on the flight deck of USS Bataan, March 18. The wash down is a standard process to prevent foreign soil, agriculture and organisms from contaminating the U.S. Local leaders with the Government of Haiti, the United Nations and non-governmental organizations took over primary responsibilities of humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations around Haiti.
