Marines assigned to the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, embarked aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Bataan, assist with the loading of humanitarian aid supplied by the Maritime Civil Affairs Team in Carrefour, Haiti. The Maritime Civil Affairs Team is engaged with local Haitian organizations providing assistance to displaced Haitians. Bataan is conducting humanitarian and disaster relief operations as part of Operation Unified Response after a 7.0 magnitude earthquake caused severe damage in and around Port-au-Prince, Haiti Jan. 12.
