An Airman deployed with the 380th Air Expeditionary Wing as a force protection Airman, learns techniques to use a baton during training at a non-disclosed location in Southwest Asia, Jan. 22. Security forces Airmen were training force protection Airmen on baton certification with the security forces wearing a protective "red man" suit acting as agressors. During the training, they used simulated batons to learn the tactics, techniques and procedures for the use of batons. Security forces Airmen receive training such as this at regional training centers such as the U.S. Air Force Expeditionary Center at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., in courses such as the Phoenix Warrior Training Course and the Phoenix Raven Training Course.
