Michèle Flournoy, the under secretary of defense for policy, receives a gift from staff Brig. Gen. Adel, commander of 1st Brigade, 1st Iraqi Army Division, during her visit to Camp Ali, Iraq, Jan. 9. Flournoy met with staff Brig. Gen. Adel and Col. Mark Stammer, commander of 1st Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division (Advise and Assist Brigade), to discuss the progress they've made in Al Anbar province through partnered training and operations since 1/82 AAB relieved two Marine Corps regimental combat teams in September 2009, as part of the responsible drawdown of U.S. forces in Iraq.
